Express Entry - Immigrate to Canada as a skilled worker

Express entry is the immigration system used mainly for economic class immigration, such as the Federal Skilled Worker Program, Federal Skilled Trades Program, and Canadian Experience Class. To be eligible for Express Entry, applicants must score points of 1200 under the comprehensive ranking system (CRS). Some may receive an invitation under the Provincial Nominee Program and receive 600 points. Those who rank the highest will receive an Invitation to Apply and have 2 months to complete.

Federal Skilled Worker Program

The Federal Skilled Worker Program, also known as Federal Skilled Worker Class, is open worldwide to those wanting to live permanently in Canada and who are experienced workers. Applicants do not need work experience in Canada, however, are required to have work experience in another country. This program is under Express Entry, which means those wanting to apply must be eligible for Express Entry first. If the applicant is eligible and their profile is created, they are ranked using the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). After, they must meet the requirements for the Federal Skilled Worker Program.

Federal Skilled Trades Program

Those under this program can apply for PR through the Express Entry system, however they must apply for the Federal Skilled Trades Program first. Once they do, they must create a profile in Express Entry and wait for ITA for PR. Like the Federal Skilled Worker Program, this program also uses a point system, but less points are required.

Canadian Experience Class

The Canadian Experience Class is for skilled workers who have Canadian work experience and want to become permanent residents.
